Professor Shang-Chi took 5 years to get a doctoral degree and worked in clinical psychology before he decided to teach. Dr. Shang-Chi wanted to help people with family issues but was not interested in research.
Professor Fury went to medical school for 4 years but then had to do a residency and a fellowship after. He was inspired to go to medical school and become a psychiatrist after losing an eye. His goal was to help others with similar life transitions.
Professor Coulson worked as a counselor before teaching. He worked in psychotherapy and was licensed after going to graduate school for 2 more years after getting his bachelor's degree.
Professor Maximoff went to graduate school in psychology for 7 years. She wrote a research dissertation about trauma and using new techniques to help survivors deal with their past experiences. Before becoming a faculty member at GWC she did a postdoctoral training program.
