The mass flow rate of the steam is 25 kg/s. The cycle is referred to as ideal since all the components are assumed to operate with no losses. No losses in the turbine, pump, and connecting pipes are considered.
a) Analyze the cycle and determine the cycle efficiency.
b) An actual Rankine cycle is formed using the same properties presented above but with an 85% efficient turbine and an 80% efficient pump. The conditions on the boiler and condenser remain the same. Find the exiting state from the turbine and the pump, and the efficiency of the actual Rankine cycle.
