Question 10
Cycle Time: (Q3)
To make a 90-degree bend, first a positioning cylinder (Cyl. A) immediately travels 2 inches to position a sheet of metal in a press brake. It then pauses for 1 second, then immediately retracts.
A pressing cylinder (Cyl. P) then slowly lowers over 8 seconds to make the bend, pauses for 2 seconds, then retracts immediately.
The workpiece is then sent on to the next stage of production by a cylinder (Cyl. B). Cylinder B slowly extends over 7 seconds, pauses for 0.5 seconds, then slowly retracts over 3.5 seconds.
There is then a pause of 5 seconds to allow an operator to load another sheet of metal before the cycle starts again.
What is the total cycle time in seconds?
Do not write the unit.
