Three steel bolt types A, B, and C are being considered for use in radio masts in 2 locations. The historical maximum and minimum temperatures at the locations are given in Table 3. Figure 1 shows the Charpy impact test results for the 3 bolt types. Determine the following for each bolt type:
3.1 The upper and lower shelf energies [6]
3.2 The DBTT energies and temperatures [6]
3.3 Based on these results, which bolt types (A, B, C) would you recommend for each of the two locations. Why? [3]
