In modern life, electronic equipment is frequently used in different fields such as communication, transportation, entertainment, etc. Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) and Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) are very important components in electronic equipment. Since most real-world signals are analog, these two converting interfaces are necessary to allow digital electronic equipment to process the analog signals.
(a) Define the word resolution in reference to an ADC or a DAC?
(b) A 4-bit DAC has an output range of 0 to 1.5 V. Define its resolution.
(c) Figure 5 shows the DAC with op-amp. Calculate the output if the input digital signal is 1110. Assume 1 binary = +5V.
