RC Circuit: Charging
We begin the problem with an open switch and an uncharged capacitor. At time t = 0, the switch is closed. Begin the problem by re-drawing the RC circuit at t = 0.
1. Determine I4(t = 0), the magnitude of the current flowing through the resistor R4 just after the switch is closed at time t = 0.
2. Determine I2, max, the maximum current that flows through resistor R2. A positive value for the current is defined to be in the direction of the arrow shown.
3. Determine Qmax, the maximum amount of charge on the capacitor after the switch has been closed for a very long time, t -> infinity.
