Step 1
Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) reacts with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to form sodium sulfate (Na2SO4), carbonic acid (H2CO3), and water (H2O). Na2CO3 + H2SO4 → Na2SO4 + H2CO3 + H2O Show more…

Sodium hydrogen carbonate is also known as bicarbonate of soda. When this compound is heated, it decomposes to sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. a) Write the balanced equation for this reaction
Dominique Jan T.
Sodium carbonate is added to remove any remaining acid that is present in the reaction mixture. Write the chemical equation that accounts for this specific reaction. (3 points)
Jital V.
Sodium hydrogen carbonate, more commonly known as baking soda, can be produced by bubbling carbon dioxide gas through an ice-cold aqueous solution containing large amounts of sodium chloride and ammonia. Because sodium hydrogen carbonate is not very soluble in cold water, it precipitates, whereas the other product of the reaction, ammonium chloride, remains dissolved. Write the unbalanced chemical equation for the process. (Hint: Water is a reactant.)
