Observation of distilled water: Add observation (10). The tip of a small spatula of potassium iodide (KI) is dissolved in 1 mL of bleach solution, followed by 10 drops of distilled water. Add lube and shake vigorously. Set aside the test tube and add a small amount (covering the tip of a small spatula) of hexane (C6H14).
