555 TIMER, ASTABLE MULTIVIBRATOR - Theory
The 555 timer is a versatile integrated circuit that can be used in a variety of applications. It is commonly used as an astable multivibrator, which is a circuit that generates a continuous square wave output. The frequency of oscillation (f) and the duty cycle (D) can be determined by the values of resistors (R1, R2) and capacitor (C). Capacitor C is only used for decoupling the control input (CONT) to reduce noise and has no effect on the frequency or duty cycle.
f = 1 / (0.693 * (R1 + 2 * R2) * C)
T = 1 / f
Rmin = 1k (IMPORTANT)
