A study was conducted to investigate whether, on average, young people stay with the same employer for less than 2 years. In a random sample of 200 young people, on average they spent 14.19 months working for their previous employer (s = 14.19 months). This is less than 2 years and a t-test shows that this difference in mean length of employment is statistically significant (t(199) = 2.25, p < 0.05). The 95% confidence interval indicates that the average time spent with the previous employer is between 0.55 and 2.53 months less than 2 years. As expected, young people stay with the same employer for less than 2 years.
