They threaten to remove their children from the schools if the books that offend them are not removed. They do not want to set up private schools or home school their children but argue that the local schools should accommodate their religious views by altering their curriculum. They claim that they should be treated just like the Old Order Amish. The school refuses to change the curriculum and when the parents remove their kids from school they are ultimately arrested by local police for violating truancy laws. Are the parents’ arrests constitutional?
