3. A 0.3 cm thick aluminum plate has rectangular fins on one side, (0.15 X 0.5 cm ) spaced 1.0 cm apart. The finned side is a contact with a low pressure air at 35 °C and the average convection coefficient is 30 W/m²K on the unfinned side water flows at 100 °C and the convection coefficient is 300 W/m²K. (a) Calculate the efficiency of the fins. (b) Calculate the rate of heat transfer per unit area of wall.

Air at 10C enters a 12-cm diameter and 5-m long pipe at a rate of 0.065 kg/s. The inner surface of the pipe has a roughness of 0.22 mm and the pipe is nearly isothermal at 50C. Determine the rate of heat transfer to air.
Consider a wall that consists of two layers, A and B, with the following values: a. kA = 0.7 W/m·°C, b. LA = 6 cm, c. kB = 0.25 W/m·°C, d. LB = 3 cm. If the temperature drop across the wall is 21°C, what is the rate of heat transfer through the wall per unit area of the wall?
