For my doctoral research, I wanted to find out if there is a connection between the origin of the sexual division of labor in humans (you may have heard the phrase, "man the hunter, woman the gatherer") and similar phenomena described in our closest relatives, chimpanzees. Male chimps hunt significantly more than do females, while female chimps "gather" – forage for termites and other small prey – significantly more than do males. Propose a hypothesis to explain these differences between male and female feeding behaviors in chimpanzees. For full credit, remember the definition and characteristics of a hypothesis when providing your answer.
