The major product of this reaction exists as two
stereoisomers. Draw both isomers. Show all hydrogen atoms in the
structures. Use wedge and dash bonds to indicate the
stereochemistry. An alkene where alkene carbon 1 has an
ethyl and methyl substituent and alkene carbon 2 has a methyl and
hydrogen substituent. The methyl substituents are on opposite sides
of the alkene. This reacts with B r 2 and a large excess of
water.
