The period of a simple pendulum is a function of the length of
the pendulum and the gravitational field. Describe an experiment
you could perform to demonstrate that the mass at the end of the
pendulum does not affect the period, the maximum amplitude – i.e.
how far you pull it back before releasing it – does not affect the
period, and finally that the length of the pendulum does affect its
period. Identify any physical quantities that you will measure
directly or calculate.
