The poor predictive accuracy of clinicians trained in psychopathological models of criminal behavior may be traced to their reliance on the seriousness of the psychiatric disorder, a failure of reading "The Psychology of Criminal Conduct" using the PCL-R for guiding their judgments, and an emphasis on the "Big Eight" factors depending on indicators of social class for prediction purposes.
