The project that I have in mind was working with the youth as they exit out of foster care and provide them with the essential skills that they will need to be self sufficient adults. However, I'm having a hard time locating grants/RFP that align with my project. Therefore, I have modified my project slightly to focus on homeless youth. I will still provide all of the services as in my previous plan, but focus on those on the homeless population and working to provide stable housing.
HHS-2023-ACF-ACYF-CY-0070 FY 2023 Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention Demonstration Program. The program aligns with my project as it is designed to prevent youth homelessness. My project will be to have services in place to prevent homelessness, and when youth are homeless connect them with agencies that can assist with housing, and services to ensure the youth/young adults can sustain their housing as well.
F23AS00069 Youth Engagement, Education and Employment. As part of my project we would provide services that would ensure that youth have their GED, access to FASFA and higher education programs, and employment services. This program works to help the population of under served communities.
FR-6700-N-35 Youth Homeless Demonstration Program- This program is a community approach to ending teen homelessness. My goal is to work to put programs in place that will provide teens tools that will prevent them from becoming homeless, and continuing services to sustain their independence. While at the same time promoting independence to then pay it forward to other youth facing the same challenges.
