The purpose of this assignment is to connect all the elements of a genetic condition into a concept map. Choose any genetic condition that interests you. You may create your concept map using word processing software or by hand, but it should be neat, creative, and visually appealing. I have included a few different examples of concept maps/mind maps in this module's readings; really, the sky is the limit here as far as structure and design goes, just make sure you include adequate information on your genetic topic. The concept map should provide a pictorial demonstration of the relationship between the following elements:
- Your chosen genetic condition
- Genetic influences: gene mutation, inheritance pattern
- Presenting signs and symptoms
- Prevention strategies, treatment options, medications
- Genetic counseling (impact on childbearing, risk for other family members, etc.)
- Holistic considerations (social, cultural, economic, etc. impacts of the condition)
