The rectangular thin plate is subjected to a distributed loading. Assume plane stress conditions. Use 4 and 2 elements for the same plate as shown in Fig. 3.
a) Find the element stresses for the 4 and 2 element cases and compare them with each other.
b) Calculate the von Mises stresses in one element for each of the two cases (2 and 4 element cases) and compare the results of the two cases.
