The US has the power to create the world’s reserve currency. Is there are any limit as to how many dollars the US Treasury and Fed can borrow and print? Are there other currencies that might replace the dollar as the world’s reserve currency?

Under a gold standard, countries may adopt excessively contractionary monetary policies as all countries scramble in vain for a larger share of the limited supply of world gold reserves. Can the same problem arise under a reserve currency standard when bonds denominated in different currencies are all perfect substitutes?
From 1944 to 1971, the international monetary system was under the so-called "Bretton Woods System", in which the U.S. dollar was pegged to gold at $35/oz and all other currencies were pegged to the dollar. As a result, gold and the dollar were the two most important reserve assets for central banks. Since gold has a natural scarcity, to satisfy the growing need for reserves, central banks from around the world have the incentive to accumulate dollars. The measures these foreign countries can take to attract dollars include stimulating imports from the US and decreasing interest rates.
