The XYZ Sawmill Company's CEO asks to see next month's log hauling schedule for his three sawmills. He wants to ensure a steady and sufficient flow of logs to his sawmills in order to take advantage of the good lumber market. Additionally, he wants to minimize transportation costs. The harvesting group plans to move to three new logging sites. The distance from each site to each sawmill is shown in Table 1. The average cost of hauling is $2 per mile for both loaded and empty trucks. The logging supervisor has estimated the number of truckloads of logs that will be harvested from each site daily. The number of truckloads varies due to unique terrain and cutting patterns at each site. Finally, the sawmill managers have estimated the number of truckloads of logs their mills require each day. The transportation costs have been calculated for you in Table 2.
Please determine how many trucks are shipped from each site to the different mills.
