Study 2: Patients with untreated Type 2 diabetes (n=28) were recruited. The same exclusion criteria as in Study 1 were applied. At the first visit, all were shown to have severe hyperglycemia with an HbA1c of 9%. The patients were started on intensive insulin therapy, and GA and HbA1c were measured at regular intervals for 16 weeks. The data are shown in Figures 1 and 2.
