00:01
Hello, welcome to this lesson.
00:03
In this lesson, we'll construct a bus plot.
00:05
So we use the five data summary to draw or construct a bus plot.
00:11
First of all, we need the minimum of the data.
00:18
So it has been arranged in ascending order.
00:21
So the minimum we'll have as the first data point, which is 405.
00:27
Okay we need the first quarter the first quarter is the median of the first half of the data all right so now let's look at the first half of the data we have a total data set of 10 right so the first half of the data we are looking at the median of the first half so here we have one two three four all right and one two three four so we are left with six one six and six three four so add them and we'll divide by two so we have six one six then we'll have six three four so this will divide by two so this we have one two five zero divided by two and we can have our first portal which is equals to six to five all right now let's go to the median which is the middle value so here we are actually looking at the middle value all right we have 10 and we have 10 right so we'll look at the nine value for the four of the data then the nine value from the back of the data, right? so, essentially, we are looking at this value, okay? then plus that value because if we are looking at it from this way, we have the sample size as 20, okay? so, the 10th and 11th data, that's what we would add and we will divide by two in order to get the median so we have eight five zero then eight eight one so we have eight five zero plus eight eight one we divide this by two so eight five zero plus eight 881.
02:52
We have 1731 divided by 2.
02:57
And we can have our median, which would be close to 865 .5.
03:09
All right.
03:10
Then we'll proceed with the third quartile.
03:13
The third quartile is the median of the second half of the data.
03:18
So remember we had the median of the first half.
03:21
Now we'd also have to get the median of the second half the second half starting with 881 and ending with 128 uh 1288 all right so let's pick one two three four all right and one two three four so we'll have the 923 and 909 we add it together we divide by 2 okay so 909 and 923 so we have 909 plus 923 which which is 1832.
04:21
Let's divide this by two.
04:23
So we have the third quartile, which would be 916.
04:29
All right, then we go to the last description under the five -point summary, which would be the maximum of the data.
04:42
And because the data is arranged, the maximum is the last data point, which is 1288.
04:48
All right so we can now have our boss blocks in this way starting with the minimum data which is the 405 so 405 so we can look at the ring which is one the range is one two eight eight minus four zero five all right and would have eight eight three so we can divide this by eight so that will have eight data points okay all have eight points all right so let's have one two three four five six seven and eight all right then between them would have 110 or let's run it to 111 all right.
05:51
So let's begin.
05:53
If we have some space here, probably 110 would be okay.
05:58
So we have 405.
06:00
We add 110 to it.
06:02
So we have 515 here.
06:05
Then 110 again...
