When we are finding domain and range of graphs using interval notation, there's a few things we have to look at.

So starting with domain, domain is the collection of all x values.

And we're going to mainly look at the x axis to grab those values from.

And when we read graphs, we read them like a book.

So we read them from left to right.

So we have to think, okay, what's the leftmost value this graph touches? and that's negative 6, and then what's the right most value this graph touches? that's negative 1.

Now here's where the interval notation comes in handy.

On the left side, there's an open circle, which means that graph comes really, really close to negative 6, but doesn't actually exist there, so that's why we use a soft bracket or what we call a parentheses...
