A large pharmaceutical company is trying to determine what type of drug is most effective in treating depression. A sample of depressed patients from a local mental facility were given either Celexa or Wellbutrin to treat their depression. After taking the drug for three months, the patients were then given the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) where low scores indicate lower depression levels.

A psychiatrist wants to examine the effectiveness of 3 drug treatments on depression. Participants are randomly assigned to one of three treatment groups. After 3 months, the participants rate their level of depression on a scale from 0 to 5 (where 5 indicates severe depression). Was there a significant difference in the effectiveness of the three drugs on depression? Alpha Drug, Placeborita Drug, Gleefullof Drug, Happyisheh Drug. What is your omega squared? Use %.

A research study was conducted to examine the clinical efficacy of a new antidepressant. Depressed patients were randomly assigned to one of three groups: a placebo group, a group that received a low dose of the drug, and a group that received a moderate dose of the drug. Placebo. Low Dose. Moderate Dose 38 22 14 47 19 26 39 8 11 25 23 18 42 31 5 Means 38.2 20.6 14.8 Std. Dev. 8.17 8.32 7.85 After four weeks of treatment, the patients completed the Beck Depression Inventory. The higher the score, the more depressed the patient. The data are presented below. Using the critical value approach, test to determine if their clinical efficacy is legitimate. Let a = .05.. Data is in figure. a)Answer the following question: 1. Formulate the null and alternative hypotheses , what is your Ho % H1 values 2. Select the significance level, what is your alpha value? 3. Select the test statistic and calculate its value. (F=?) 4. Identify what is your critical value for the test statistics 5. Compare calculated and critical values and reach a conclusion about the null hypothesis 6. Make a related business decision b). write all values of ANOVA table
