Well, first of all, they're known to possess.

Now, oftentimes what you'll see is that they are plural, right? meaning that there is more than one demon.

You'll see that they are a collective plural.

For instance, i think the most famous one is when jesus comes up to someone and demands to know his name, and he says, we, we are legion, for we are many.
