Consider two multicriteria programs: Program A: Linear goal program that minimizes weighted proportional deviations and Program B: Minimax version of A. Which of the following statements are correct? Program A can provide more solutions than Program B Program B is more sensitive to weights than A Program B has many variables in the objective function Program A is more sensitive to weights than B Program B is nonlinear

Which of the following statements is true? Group of answer choices A) In a linear programming problem, the objective function and the constraints must be linear functions of the decision variables. B) Decreasing the right-hand side of a nonbinding constraint will not cause a change in the optimal solution. C) Alternative optimal solutions occur when there is no feasible solution to the problem. D) A redundant constraint is a binding constraint.

You need to choose between two alternative programs for dealing with the outbreak of a deadly disease. In program 1, 200 people are saved. In program 2, there is a 2/3 chance that no one is saved and a 1/3 chance that 600 people are saved. a. Find the expected number of lives saved with each program. b. Now you need to choose between program 3, in which 400 people will die, and program 4, in which there is a 1/3 chance that no one will die and a 2/3 chance that 600 people will die. Find the expected number of deaths with each program. c. Explain why programs 1 and 3 are similar and why 2 and 4 are similar. (If you had to choose, would you be like most people and be risk averse in part a, choosing program 1, and risk taking in part b, choosing program 4?)

Linear programming produces optimal solutions, while simulation does not. So why use simulation? Simulation is faster than linear programming (LP). Simulation can address some complicated problems that LP cannot. Simulation produces more accurate answers than LP. Simulation can solve both minimization and maximization problems. Both b and c above. None of the above.
