Critically review the Psychological Test - Malin's Intelligence Scale for Indian children (MISIC). What are the possible advantages, limitations, reliability, validity, and norms?
Reniah C.
Texts: A primary concern for psychologists is that intelligence assessments that are implemented professionally have been tested for both reliability (when we receive similar results when conducting the same survey or assessment at different times) and validity (when we are testing the concepts we are expecting to test in a survey or assessment). Part of a valid survey or assessment is that they are culturally fair. In this discussion: 1. Summarize Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences. 2. Complete the Multiple Intelligences test. 3. Discuss whether or not the scores are consistent with your perception of yourself. Why or why not? 4. From reading section 8.4.2 (page 348) of the textbook and pages 18-21 in the APA Guidelines for Psychological Assessment and Evaluation, do you think the test was culturally fair? Why or why not?
