Peers post: In the time capsule, I included a document that provides an in-depth analysis of an important part of American history. The document explains how societies response to terrorism was influenced by racism. It details how an image was tied to what a terrorist would look like with little accuracy. Â The narrative pushed by society was that all terrorists were of a certain skin tone or ethnic group, leading to unfair discrimination against innocent individuals. The document outlines how this narrative was perpetuated and its impact on individuals and America. It sheds light on a dark chapter in American history that must not be forgotten. If I were to open the time capsule in the future, I would hope that America had progressed significantly beyond the biases of our time. As I read the document, I would try to understand how our society had come to hold such biases and how we had worked to overcome them. I would also look for insights into how we might prevent similar biases from affecting other groups in the future. 1.
