1. Most people would agree that humans are the dominant animal species in the world. Why, then, should we care about the possible extinction of other animals or plants? After all, if we're the dominant species, that means we don't need the other animals or plants, right? So, why should we care? Support your answer with facts and concepts learned in this class. 2 Why is deforestation a serious global environmental problem? Describe at least two factors that may contribute to deforestation. Are the factors driving deforestation different in developed countries versus developing countries? Why, or why not? How might deforestation in Kenya, Brazil, or Canada, affect you where you live, whether you live here in the DC metropolitan area or somewhere else?
