SENSATION AND PERCEPTION Description: Explain, assuming the reader is not familiar with it. Describe the topic in your simple words; do not simply quote a definition from your book or elsewhere. This does not need to be an extensive description, but it should be enough to allow your reader to understand the topic and what you will write about your topic for the rest of the paper. Interpretation: For example, what is most interesting/important/useful/relevant about the topic? Why is it important in the study of human development? The application paper is the culminating paper for the course. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate your ability to apply psychological concepts to real life. Select four (4) concepts from four DIFFERENT modules and apply them to real life examples. The examples can be from your own life or just real-world experiences. The modules are listed below: - Biology and Behavior - Sensation / Perception - Learning - Memory - Cognition / Intelligence - Human Development - Personality - Motivation - Stress - Social Psychology - Psychological Disorders and Treatment A concept is any term, idea, or theory. Apply it through personal experiences or observation of others. Use accurate psychology terminology in your examples. Write a minimum of three pages and no more than four pages, not including your References page. Add a References page for all textbook and course material citations. The format is as follows: Licht, D.M., Hull, M.G., & Ballyntne, C. (2019). Presenting psychology (Second Edition). New York, NY: Worth Choose four (4) different concepts from four (4) different modules. For each concept, include a brief definition before your discussion and application of the concept. Your writing should demonstrate comprehension of the concepts selected and a real-life example of each concept. This assignment should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner. Your paper should have an introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction should include a clear thesis statement. The body includes a description of each concept and a real-life example that illustrates the concept. The conclusion should summarize your paper.
The topics included sensory adaptation/habituation, color blindness, deafness, our senses, and perceptual illusions. Reflect and summarize what you learned as a result of reading this week's lecture. Describe why you feel knowledge of these areas would be important in the workplace.
