We decide to invite 200 women, through our friends’ friends, in romantic dating relationships to an extra credit survey opportunity and present them with the same “possible infidelity scenario.” After listening, the participant is then asked “Considering your current relationship partner and how you normally deal with things, how would you respond to this?” After data collection, we organize all the women’s responses into either “Direct” or “Indirect” confrontation strategies: We end up with 168 women would use direct strategies and 32 that would use indirect strategies.
