00:01
All right, so for this question, we're basically given a list of terms which we need to define and then illustrate how all the terms are related to each other and the internet.
00:13
So the first term that we're given is the web page.
00:20
So what is the web page? web page is, you know, so it's kind of self -explanatory.
00:27
It's a page that's a part of a website.
00:31
So a page from a website so that one's really easy a web page can contain anything like a video so for example if you go to youtube .com that's website in fact the next term we have to define is the website also website is you know it's like it's a i guess a collection of web pages with some content.
01:20
So that's what a website is.
01:22
So it's a collection of web pages, and a web page is a singular page from the website.
01:26
For example, if you go to youtube .com, that's a website.
01:29
If you go to a specific video, that's going to be a web page.
01:34
So that's what that is.
01:38
So that's what those two are.
01:40
And the next term is web server.
01:48
And so what server so what a web server is it's software and hardware right so it's going to be software and harder that work together that basically accept requests except specific types of requests which are called http requests or https so they accept to requests through http and from a user, basically.
02:31
And these web servers host websites.
02:36
So they host websites.
02:40
That's basically the main thing about web servers.
02:43
It's basically just a server, which a website is hosted on, and a user can use a user can use a web browser or something to make communications to the web server to request a web page, it's the website.
03:01
So that's what web server is.
03:02
And the next question, or the next term we need to define, is actually related to that.
03:07
It's what is a web browser.
03:12
And a web browser is basically, you know, some kind of software, basically software to access the internet or the worldwide web.
03:37
And so this is not the same thing as a search engine.
03:40
Because a search engine is a website that uses a web browser.
03:44
Or, like, it's a website that connects to web server to provide links to other websites.
03:53
But web browser itself is not a website.
03:58
A web browser is used on, like, laptops and tablets.
04:02
So, for example, like google chrome is a web browser.
04:05
Safari is a web browser, internet explorer as a web browser.
04:09
These are just softwares that are used to access to internet.
04:13
So that's an important, distinguish, important feature that you need to be able to distinguish.
04:24
So that's what a web browser is.
04:26
And then the next term we need to define is what is a url.
04:31
And a url is basically so the long form is uniform resource locator but this is basically just a web address so you know this is what and it so it's used to locate you know the whatever resource you're trying to get on a network so it's for example like let's say your url is http, you know, colon slash, slash, google .com, right? that's good, that contains a reference to google .com that's on the world wide web, and it's going to retrieve that.
05:19
So that's what the url is.
05:21
So the url goes into the web browser.
05:23
Web browser connects to the web server, web server, connects to a website, which gives you a web page.
05:30
So so far, that's what we have.
05:33
Then we have the isp, or the internet service, internet, internet service provider and this is basically you know an organization so this is like a company like at &t or like you know i don't know like for your phones your isp would be like i don't know like t -mobile although team those are carriers sorry isp would be like the biggest one i could think of right now is at &t so these are basically organizations which provide connection right to your house to the internet things like that so it's an organization that provides services to access the internet that's what an isp is then the next thing we have is ip internet protocol so i guess we need to establish two things before so ip is internet protocol.
07:02
So we can talk about the ip address.
07:05
This is what connects.
07:07
So this is like a numerical label or value that connects a web page or website.
07:23
Actually, it doesn't even, it just basically connects a computer connects to a, sorry...
