00:01
So looking at the christian god, we are wanting to know what does it mean to worship god? so we'll be looking at just a few passages.
00:09
There's many many you could look at.
00:10
We're gonna look at just a few to first identify what is worship and then how we worship.
00:16
So first of all, what is worship? we're gonna be looking at the psalms.
00:19
These are great examples of people worshiping in good times and in bad, right? difficult times, struggle times, but also times of plenty, times of victory, those kind of things.
00:28
So overall the big understanding of what is worship.
00:33
Worship is your devotion towards god.
00:38
Anything that you do in devotion towards him.
00:42
So this comes with loving god.
00:46
This comes with trusting god, honoring him and obeying him.
00:51
And all of these acts come by the personal relationship that you will develop with god.
01:00
So he's not just a you know a deity in the sky that is capable of you know manipulating all of our lives and just has this awesome power, but chooses when to use it.
01:15
But he is someone who has greatly sacrificed and maintains true to himself as perfect love, perfect judgment and continues to work on individual people.
01:29
And so because of this individual relationship you can develop love, trust, honor and obedience towards god.
01:36
All of this accumulating into devotion.
01:39
Other aspects of worship, not just what you do and what you feel as devotion, but also it's an acknowledgement and it's a celebration of who he is.
01:56
So it's acknowledging him as god, as a higher deity that has more power, that has a more perfect love than you.
02:08
And it's celebrating who he is and what he chooses to do in your life.
02:13
What he is able to do maintaining that perfect love, that perfect judgment and in his sacrifice of his son to make sure that we have personal relationships and we have an ability to talk to him to go to heaven.
02:31
So that is looking at you know our understanding of worship.
02:36
So looking at how we worship we can again look towards the psalms...
