00:01 In this problem we are given that there is an automobile whose mass is 140 kg and this is traveling with a speed of 85 kilometers per hour and we are required to determine the amount of work which should be done in order to bring this automobile to rest and along with that we have to also get the kinetic energy of this automobile when this is traveling at 85 kilometers per hour.
00:27 So let's say k is the kinetic energy and we would use this equation to get the kinetic energy, according to which the kinetic energy is half mv square.
00:35 So let's plug in the values.
00:37 And when we do that, we see that the speed is in kilometers per hour.
00:41 Let's multiply this with 5 by 18 to convert this in meter per second, because that's the simplest way to do that.
00:47 And this simplifies to 2 .9 times 10 raise to 5 jules...
