Station A starts sending a frame at time t = 0.0 µs and station B starts sending a frame at t = 23.0 µs. a) Can the frames collide? b) If the answer to part a is yes, does station A detect the collision? c) If the answer to part a is yes, does station B detect the collision?
Host A and B are connected with an Ethernet LAN. CSMA/CD is used in their communication. Suppose the end-to-end distance between A and B is 500 meters. The channel speed is 10 Mbps and the propagation speed is 200 m/μsec. Suppose at time 0, A has a 512-bit packet to send to B, and after 2 μsec, B also has a 512-bit packet to send to A.
