Language production and comprehension are essential parts of communication. Language production involves four stages, which are: first, deciding what you want to say (conceptualization); next, forming your thoughts into words (formulation); then, speaking the words out loud (articulation); and finally, checking to make sure you said everything correctly (self-monitoring).
