Why do you think there is still a stigma for individuals who suffer from mental disorders, even though a significant percentage of this population has been diagnosed with at least one of the disorders?
Adi S.
Do you know of someone who has a psychological disorder? You probably do, even though they may not have shared it with you. Remember over 25% of Americans have had symptoms of a psychological disorder this past year, and that's only the ones who have sought help. I have been diagnosed with Dysthymia, and at one time with major depression. I have taken medication and went through Cognitive therapy to address the symptoms and causes. What has been your experience with someone who has a psychological disorder? If you have not had any such experience, how do you think you would react if someone told you about their disorder?
