When tasks are complex with many subcomponents (e.g., cleaning your room involves picking up, making the bed, vacuuming, etc)
children may have a difficult time complying. Some parents may wait to reinforce a child until the child completes all of their room-
cleaning tasks. However, a better strategy might be to reinforce parts of the task (e.g., picking up), and keep adding tasks (and
reinforcement) until the child eventually learns to clean the entire room. This strategy is consistent with the behavioral concept of
