Hormone that increases the sex drive in females
Benjamin D.
How do hormones influence human sexual motivation?
Ian S.
In human primates, steroid hormones, particularly estrogen and testosterone, can influence the patterning/timing and expression of sexual behaviors in females (and to some extent, their partners), as well as mediating sexual desire (motivation). Support this statement by describing the patterns of results from studies of human sexual behavior, indicating the activating effects of the hormones studied. The effects of both estrogen and testosterone should be addressed explicitly – do not just mention "hormones" in your responses. Also, according to Cappelletti and Wallen (2016), what role do these hormones have in mediating sexual desire in women? In addressing this, describe one problem associated with studying the clinical outcomes of the effects of testosterone administration.
