Hello, folks.
00:02
We're going to take a look at creating enduring love.
00:06
This is something that a researcher by the name of john gottman puts together.
00:11
And john gottman has done a lot of really great work as far as marriage and family relationship stuff.
00:16
So let's take a quick look at what he considers to be the seven principles of enduring love.
00:21
So based on his research, he believes there are seven things couples and people in relationships should do in order to foster a type of love.
00:30
That will really be able to outlast any kind of conflicts and and troubles that life throws at them.
00:36
So what's the first one? the first one he calls enhancing your love maps, okay? and love maps for dr.
00:42
Gottman are these, it's a psychological space that one person makes for the other person in their life.
00:47
So how intimately well do you know your significant other's goals, aspirations, concerns, thoughts about the future, things like that.
00:55
So how well do you know what your significant other aspires to? so that's the first thing you need to do is develop these love maps for one another so that you're kind of in each other's heads.
01:06
The second one is nurture fondness and admiration.
01:09
So do you consider your significant other worthy of respect and honor? and so it's a mutual deferment to the dignity of the other person in the relationship that you foster, that will help again create a type of love that is enduring and that will outlast with life throws at you.
01:26
And then the third, the third enduring love principle is to turn toward each other.
01:33
And this really involves maintaining communication and talking about some of the most mundane things.
01:38
It's just where there's that common couple chit -chat.
01:41
That kind of creates just this fondness for one another, this that we talked about earlier.
01:48
It creates this communication link where you're kind of in touch with each other...
