Which of the following statements about histograms is false? a- A histogram is a summary of interval data. b- A histogram is made of a series of intervals, called classes. c- The classes in a histogram cover the complete range of observations d- All of these choices are true.

Which of the following statements is false? A frequency distribution counts the number of observations that fall into each of a series of intervals, called classes that cover the complete range of observations. The intervals in a frequency distribution must not overlap to ensure that each observation is assigned to one interval only. The number of class intervals in a frequency distribution must be the same as the number of observations. Although the frequency distribution provides information about how the numbers in the data set are distributed, the information is often more easily understood and imparted by drawing a histogram.

When drawing a histogram, which rule is not recommended to follow, or is not valid? a. All of these statements are true b. As you increase the number of classes (bins), the width of each class (bin) increases c. Use classes of equal width d. A good guideline is to have between 5-20 classes/bins for your data e. Each data value must belong to one and only one class
