You should formulate a research question, a research purpose, a research objective, and a hypothesis for your project. Remember, not every study has a hypothesis so it is ok not to have one. Using the examples here and the information on the attached file, write a question or purpose or objective or hypothesis.
Hint: Qualitative research usually requires an exploratory question; quantitative research requires a hypothesis statement.

Example 1:
Research Question: Will incorporating intensive morphological instruction into a fifth-grade classroom language arts program for the entire school year improve reading comprehension?
Research Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine whether incorporating intensive morphological instruction into a fifth-grade language arts program for the entire school year will improve reading comprehension.
Research Objective: The objective of this study is to identify whether incorporating intensive morphological instruction into a fifth-grade language arts program for the entire school year will improve reading comprehension.
Hypothesis: Reading comprehension of fifth-grade students will improve after an entire school year of incorporating intensive morphological instruction into their language arts program.
Example 2:
Research question: What are the effects of literacy development of redshirting a child with a summer birthday prior to the entrance into kindergarten?
Research purpose: The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of literacy development of redshirting a child with a summer birthday prior to the entrance into kindergarten.
Research objective: The objective of this study is to identify the effects of redshirting a child with a summer birthday prior to the entrance into kindergarten.
Hypothesis: Literacy development will be enhanced by redshirting a child with a summer birthday prior to the entrance into kindergarten.
Next, you need to begin to locate articles that relate to the research topic and create a reference list. You will access the UTPB library databases and find 10 scholarly articles that are relevant to your topic. This process will be demonstrated in a video. There is also a PowerPoint of instructions in the Resources section of the course. The librarians will also help with this task.
