Problem 1

Could one use the emulsion Slavich VRM-M to make a single beam white light reflection hologram, using an Ar laser and $\lambda=514 \mathrm{~nm}$ ? What is the maximum angle between reference and object waves for this emulsion (refractive index $n=1.5$ )?

Problem 2

What resolution of holographic material is needed to make a white light reflection hologram with the object wave impinging the holographic plate normal to the surface and the reference wave at an offset angle of $30^{\circ}$ with respect to the normal of the plate (other side, of course). Calculate for the He-Ne, wavelength $\lambda=632.8 \mathrm{~nm}$ and $n=1.5$.

Problem 3

Using a He-Ne laser $(l=632.8 \mathrm{~nm}, P=10 \mathrm{~mW})$ and Slavich PFG03-M to make a white light reflection hologram, calculate the minimum exposure time. The set up is given in Fig. 10.2. The visibility was measured to be $70 \%$. Assume that the divergence of the reference wave is just the size of the holographic plate $\left(10 \times 10 \mathrm{~cm}^2\right)$

Problem 4

After bleaching a white light reflection hologram made with a He-Ne laser $(\lambda=632.8 \mathrm{~nm})$ the emulsion shrank by $20 \%$. Calculate the wavelength of the reconstructed image.

Problem 5

A white light reflection hologram made with a He-Ne laser $(632.8 \mathrm{~nm})$ shows after developing and bleaching a green color. By aspirating the emulsion side of the hologram the color turns to red, warming up the hologram turns the color to green or even to blue. Explain what happened.
