So let's start with number one. We have four. X minus seven is greater than eight. So we're gonna start by substituting five in place of acts. So we would get four times five minus seven is greater than eight. And now we're just gonna follow the order of operations. So first we'll take care of our multiplication. Well, four times five is 20 so we're gonna have 20 minus seven is greater than eight. Well, 20 minus seven is 13. So we're left with 13. Is greater than eight. Well, is 13 greater than a Yes, it ISS. So because this is a true statement, that means that five is, in fact, a solution for this inequality. So five is a solution. All right. Now, let's try number two. It says that 12 is less than nine minus sex. So again to determine if five is a solution. We're going to take five and substituted in place of X. So when we do that, we're gonna have 12. Is less than nine minus five. But let's see here. So again, we're gonna have nine minus five. Alright. Well, now we need to evaluate the right hand side. Well, nine minus five is four. So we're left with 12 is less than four. Well, is 12 western four? No, it is not is actually greater than four. Therefore, that means that this is a false statement. So we can say that it is false and because it's a false statement. What that means is that five is not a solution to this inequality. So five is not a solution so again to determine if a value is going to be a solution for inequality. You're going to substitute it into the inequality and determine if it is a true or false statement. If it's true, then it will be a solution. If it's false, then it is not a solution.
