Intro Stats / AP Statistics

Numerade's AP Statistics course gives an overview of various topics related to Statistics and Probability. The aim of this course is to provide an explanation about the types of data and statistics. It explains how to estimate the unknown factors of the population by using sampling methods and statistical analysis. The course covers the concept of Tabular and Graphical Displays, Numerical Summaries such as a measure of location, a measure of variability, and measures of distribution. The course discusses the Linear Regression Model which includes a description of the Regression Model, Coefficient of Determination, and Correlation Coefficient. Throughout the course, one can learn the topics of probability, Random Experiments, Counting Rules, Relationships of Probability, Conditional Probability, and Bayes’ Theorem. The major focus of this course is to explain the concepts of Normal, Binomial, and Geometric Models. It further describes the Standard Normal Random Variable and Normal Approximation to the Binomial Probability Distribution. The course continues to describe the Sampling Distributions of Sample Mean and Sample Proportion. It then shifts its discussion to the concepts of the Margin of Error and the Interval Estimate when the population standard deviation is known and not known. It goes on to discuss the concepts of Big data, Precision of Confidence Intervals and Interpreting the Confidence Interval. Furthermore, it provides a brief introduction to Hypothesis Testing with One Sample. The course describes the concept of hypothesis testing for the Population Mean and Population Proportion. It describes the concept of Type I and Type II Errors, One-Tailed Test and Two-Tailed Test.
