I grew up in a small town in Iowa, my graduating class in high school was about 60 kids. I went to the University of Iowa not really knowing what I wanted to study, only that I really loved math. Part way through my time there I discovered I really liked probability and statistics as well as computer science. Eventually I found my way into tutoring as a flexible part time job. I was a private tutor at Iowa for two years and enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. That lead me to Numerade which allows me to continue to do what I enjoy with tutoring while also offer me a chance to expand and connect with people I would never have the opportunity to in an in-person setting. I am excited to be able to work with Numerade while I progress towards finishing my PhD at UNLV.
Outside of academics I enjoy being outside (running, hiking, rock climbing), spending time with my dogs (German Shephard/Beagle mix and Teddy Bear Pug), and playing video games (League, Smash, anything).
