Katie Miller

The University of Alabama

Biography

Hi, I'm Katie! I am a current Chemistry PhD student at Rice University with a passion for teaching! When I'm not in the lab, I am volunteering as the co-founder of Fun With Chemistry: Rice University Chapter which is an organization that brings science demonstrations to K-12 students across Houston! I have three semesters of teaching in the lab setting and one semester of graduate teaching experience for a lecture course, and I'm excited to share my chemistry knowledge!

Chemistry Structure and Properties

Nitric acid (HNO3) is a component of acid rain that forms when
gaseous nitrogen dioxide pollutant reacts with gaseous oxygen and
liquid water to form aqueous nitric acid. Write a balanced chemical
equation for this reaction. (Note: This is a simplified representation
of this reaction.)
