Mary B.

University of Oklahoma

Biography

Attending college from 1992 to 1999, I changed careers from Professional Hairstylist/Instructor to become a middle school Algebra & Geometry teacher. I have been working for 20 years with 7-9th grade students; for the past 12 years I have been the Math Department Chair at my school, Brink Junior High in Oklahoma City. Along with teaching the advanced courses of PreAP Algebra I and PreAP Geometry, I have been a leader in my district offering PD to other educators. About 10 years ago I successfully completed Leadership Training with Texas Instruments and became one of their Regional Instructors. Teaching others, whether it be young students in my classroom or other educators, I have enjoyed sharing various tools and techniques that I regularly use in my classroom.
