Thesis statement: Prescription cost have become unaffordable in the Unites States.
The topic I chose to research was prescription cost. I came across an Executive Order of the President of the United States. It goes over the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Inflation Reduction Act is also known as IRA. The IRA will lower the cost of prescription drugs and save millions of Americans hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. The IRA will also protect the medicare beneficiaries from catastrophic drug costs by phasing in a cap for out-of-pocket costs the pharmacy and establishing a $35 monthly cap per prescription for insulin covered by a medicare prescription drug plan and insulin delivered through traditional pumps. The IRA will require certain companies to pay Medicare rebates they increase the price of drugs used by medicare beneficiaries faster than the risk of inflation.
I found this article to be very interesting. I did read over several different articles until I found this one. I have wondered ig the government should play a role in healthcare. This EOP sounds like it will be beneficial to the average person.
